FerrocastCompress
Compress makes a smaller copy of images, audio, video and PDF. Images can be compressed to a size, a percentage or a preset, with an optional resize; audio and video go through ffmpeg with computed bitrates; PDF goes through optional Ghostscript with presets only.
Open it from the Tools wheel or the Convert view, or type a target in the Convert view: 500kb, 1.5mb or 40%. The Compress Images window has Size, Percent and Preset modes.

Options
Section titled “Options”- Size target: a binary search over JPEG quality finds the best fit, and an impossible target is handled.
- Presets Light, Balanced and Strong keep 70, 50 and 30 % of the size, with an optional resize that never upscales.
- Audio and video use ffmpeg with a bitrate computed from the target size and duration.
- PDF uses presets only and requires Ghostscript.
